8/7/21 UPDATE FROM MRS. KAREN TAFT HERSELF!
"HI, I just wanted to give everyone a quick update as I have been unable to use Facebook for the past few weeks. I'm doing much better. I had a skin graft done on my arm last week and I am hoping to be leaving the hospital sometime next week. I finally feel like I am getting better.
I just cannot believe all the outpouring of love and support from all of you. You don't know how much it is appreciated.
Good luck to everyone racing. I'll be watching you on my phone.
Love to all"
8/4/21 UPDATE
Hi everyone,
We wanted to share an update on Mrs. Taft's condition from her daughter, Kristin. Thank you all for your support and please continue to share the fundraiser.
"I wanted to take a minute to send out a word of gratitude to everyone who has been so supportive of my mom and the rest of our family during this tough time. The display of support has been truly overwhelming and we are so incredibly grateful for everyone who has donated clothing, money, furniture, etc. and who have reached out with kind words, prayers, and other acts of kindness. We are blessed to have such amazing people in our lives. My mom is still in the hospital but is slowly on her road to recovery and will be back in action soon. Thank you all for your continued support! It truly does not go unnoticed."
Love,
Kristin Taft
A family friend of Karen Taft, Cheryl Bonham, reached out to 5Help Foundation to ask for help after Mrs. Taft lost her home & dog in a fire this past week in Concordia (Monroe Township). She moved there about 4 years ago from Millstone. To make matters worse, she is hospitalized with burns and injuries after jumping out a 2nd story window to escape a fire that destroyed her home.
For now, she is without a home of her own and without all of the belongings she had acquired throughout her lifetime. All of her clothing, furniture, photos, appliances, memorabilia, etc. are all gone. Though some of those things can be replaced, some cannot- including her beloved dog, Rusty. This fire has caused so much heartbreak and devastation and there is a long road to recovery ahead.
If you are able to, please consider donating $5 or more so that we can get Mrs. Taft back to where she needs to be. We appreciate everyoneโs well wishes and support throughout this tumultuous time. This fundraiser has been approved by Mrs. Taft's daughter, Kristin.
Every little bit helps!
